The Background
Muzz Buzz Drive Thru Coffee was a single store operation in Western Australia in 2004, with the potential to revolutionise the drive thru coffee industry in Australia. Muzz Buzz needed to grow but lacked the expertise and knowledge to do so. The business required strategic repositioning that would attract new investors willing to make a substantial injection of capital and create a new business plan to achieve rapid growth.

The Challenge
The challenge for Muzz Buzz was to reposition the Company from a boutique single site operation into a major national retail franchise business with mass appeal that could deliver strong sustainable returns to investors through rapid growth in new Australian markets and be positioned for international growth within a 5 year period.

The Process

Our consultants structured and managed the financing and capital raising, prepared the franchising deeds and framework agreements, managed property acquisition, built the appropriate corporate structures, recruited key management personnel and established the financial management systems and marketing plans to transform the Muzz Buzz business into a successful national franchise operation.

Muzz Buzz is now the market leader and dominant player in the Australian drive thru coffee business, with a dynamic retail brand that has been voted in the Top 5 Emerging Brands in WA Business News Brand Surveys in each of the past 3 years. In 2008, Muzz Buzz was recognised as one of Top 10 Franchise Operations by Australian & New Zealand Franchising Magazine.

Muzz Buzz now has 30 franchise stores operating in Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria and is soon to expand its operations into Queensland. The Company now employs hundreds of staff and has achieved strong sustainable earnings growth. The Muzz Buzz brand has attracted strong interest from major international investors and is expanding into South Africa through a Master Franchise Agreement.
